Make / Model / Year

Overview

When it comes to car parts, it can be a daunting task for your customers to locate what they need quickly when they need to find it amongst countless other parts. With the make/model/year feature, you can save your customers the hassle and get them right to where they want to be with a few simple clicks. This feature adds three drop down boxes allowing customers access to all make/model/year variants in one compact location without having to sort through huge lists.

A customer simply selects their make from the first drop down menu, then the second drop down menu dynamically updates with only models specific to that make, and then again with the years specific to that make and model. To prevent incomplete searches, it will not search until all 3 drop down boxes have an option selected. These drop down menus are easy to setup and maintain, using the already available Prostores categories functionality to configure.

Customize it

This product offers several variations to suit your needs.

Keyword Based Search - This variation allows you to use the make/model/year feature to create a keyword search on your products. This variation is recommended if you have a lot of products with a thorough naming convention.
Category Based Search - This variation will direct visitors to categories relevant to the products they are searching for. This method takes a little more setup, but offers significant control and organization of this feature.
Linked or Unlinked 3rd search option - Optionally, you can choose if the Year drop down box is the same across all make and model variations, or if you would like to customize this for every combination.

Requirements

Merchant must configure search variations
If using the keyword-based setup, products must have keywords that match the search feature
If using the category-based setup, products must be assigned to their respective categories
